Allan George Thurman, Jr. was born June 8, 1924 to Allen George (Sr.) and Janet Agnes Davis Thurman. He died Dec. 19, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium and has a cenotaph in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.
Pvt. Thurman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. G, 411th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
