THOMPSON DISCHARGED.
Lovilia.—Pfc. Russell Thompson received a discharge from the marines at Great Lakes, Ill., last week and is here with his wife, Mrs. Maxine Barnes Thompson, and mother, Mrs. John Cooper. He joined the marines in February, 1943, and had been in the Pacific area since August, 1943. He was with the assault troops in several initial landings and has five battle stars.
