Lyle Thompson Dies Suddenly
Lyle G. Thompson, 46, of Webster City died suddenly Saturday evening following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sandvig Funeral home in Eagle Grove with the Rev. Lloyd W. Meyer officiating and with burial in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove.
The body was taken to the Sandvig Funeral home at 3 p.m. this afternoon and will be in state there until the time of services Tuesday, with the Foster Funeral home in charge.
Lyle George Thompson, son of Thomas and Martha Thompson, was born April 13, 1919, at Renwick and was reared and educated in the Renwick community.
He enlisted in the army and served during World War II as a master sergeant in the South Pacific. He also served in the Korean war.
He was united in marriage August 4, 1946, to Ruth Johnson, and one son was born to this union, Richard Thompson of Eagle Grove.
Mr. Thompson had been employed for several years in banking construction work.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Richard, two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Miller of Webster City, and Mrs. Harold (LaVonne) Albright of Springdale, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Thompson was baptized in the Baptist faith.
