Gordon S. “Bud” Thompson was born Apr. 8, 1913 to Seward G. and Randa Larson Thompson. He died Feb. 8, 1945 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, IA.
Sgt. Thompson served in World War II with the U.S. Army, 16th Observation Battalion for the U.S. Field Artillery in Belgium where he was KIA and where he was originally buried. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart.
