William Harland Sumpter was born Jan. 30, 1915 to Charles and Ada Berry Sumpter. He died July 25, 1945 and is buried in Restland Cemetery, Baxter, IA.
Sgt. Sumpter served in World War II with the U.S. Army 143rd Infantry Regiment and died in an accident while in the service of his country in Germany.
