Charles Walter Sweem was born July 13, 1917 to Clarence J. and Myrtle Elizabeth Harvey Sweem. He died Jan. 12, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Donize, France.
Pvt. Sweem served in World War II with the U.S. Army 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division and was KIA in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
