William Max Squires was born Jan. 18, 1917 to William L. and Neola E. Hammond Squires. He died Dec. 14, 1942 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Putnam, IA.
Pvt. Squires served in World War II with the U.S. Army Infantry, Co. G, 34th Division and was killed near Djebel Abord, Tunisia.
