Pvt. Harry E. Spitler

 

SENDS LETTTER.

Private Harry E. Spitler of this city, who is stationed with the engineering detachments at Camp Swift, Texas, writes that he saw special duty for six weeks at Little Rock, Ark., where the Army assisted in the flood stricken area.  During the six weeks, the engineers carried sand bags, built emergency roads and constructed bridges in the flooded territory. Private Spitler expects to be home on furlough about July 15. His address:  Pvt. Harry E. Spitler, 627th Engr. Co. L. T.  Pon. Camp Swift, Texas.

Harry Edward Spitler was born Feb. 28, 1922 to He died Feb. 28, 1989 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Sgt. Spitler served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 527th Engineering Light Pontoon Co.
