Pfc. Dale E. Smith


Fort Lewis, Washington – Men wounded in the battles of the Belgium bulge, the drives against the Siegfried line and all along the German border have arrived in Madigan general hospital here, Col. W.G. Jenkins, commanding officer has announced.

Listed according to home states the new arrivals include;

Iowa – Pvt. Howard L. Burns, Coon Rapids, S. Sgt. Lloyd Russell Hennick, Estherville; Pvt. Glen Montange, 1701 Isabella Street, Sioux City; Pfc. Dale E. Smith, Cedar Rapids; T. Sgt. Earl L. Waddell, Charles City.

Dale Elwood Smith was born Mar. 1, 1919 to Thomas H. and Kathryn Eischen Smith. He died Jan. 2, 1973 and is buried in Harbor Lawn-Mount Olive Memorial Park, Costa Mesa, CA.

Dale served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
