ARE AWAITING WORD FROM SON
Wayne Simmons, 18, Is at Pearl Harbor With U. S. Navy
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simmons, of Washington, D. C., are anxiously awaiting word from their son, Wayne, who is in the United States navy stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
The Simmons family formerly lived in Webster City where Mr. Simmons was employed by The Daily Freeman-Journal.
Their son, Wayne, has been in the navy more than a year. He was 18 years old in September and was in the Canadian army four months. He has been at Honolulu since January.

Wayne Allison Simmons was born Sept. 8, 1923 to Robert A. and Ethel Virginia Phacis Simmons. He died Dec. 14, 1995 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
Petty Officer Simmons served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and Korea.
