Verle Stanley Howard Sargent was born Sept. 12, 1918 to Harford Grandville and Nellie Booth Jewett Sargent. He died Dec. 5, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and memorialized at Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point, IA.
Pvt. Sargent served in World War II with the U.S. Army 126th Infantry Division and was KIA in Manila, the Philippines. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
