Leroy Sterl Rytter was born Mar. 5, 1919 to John and Alma Aarvig Rytter. He died June 24, 1944 and is memorialized at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.
He served with the 759th Bomber Squadron, 459th Bomber Group, Heavy in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was first listed as missing in action, later declared killed in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
