Thomas M. Purcell was born July 4, 1917 to Philip and Loretta Cosgrove Purcell. He died Oct. 21, 1943 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, IA.

Cpl. Purcell served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry, 34th Division and died in Italy in the service of his country.
