Martin Punt S 1/c (R.M.) R/S P.S.N.Y., Bremerton, Wash., Box 128. (Navy) writes:

Dear Ed. and Marie: Nov. 29, 1944

I think I've waited long enough in writing, so here goes. I promised I'd write when I was home, about a month ago and kept putting it off. We're enjoying some very nice rains up here in Washington, it keeps pouring for days and nights. I hear Iowa has had a little snow already, so just figure winter is just around the bend. I want to thank the business girls for the swell writing portfolio they sent me, it sure is swell, and I know all the boys appreciated it a lot.

We are kept quite busy up here Ed on General Details, as we're either waiting for a ship, or further assignment on some base. The Navy will decide which one we want alright, even if we'd want to spend Christmas in the States. I'm not much of a writer, Ed, but I want to wish you and all the News Readers a very Merry Christmas. We hope and pray our next one will be back home again. So long now, until later. A sailor friend, Marty
