PROBST BROTHERS HOME.
West Liberty, Ia.—C. Wayne Probst, U.S. Navy, 17 months in the Pacific, is spending a 30-day furlough with his wife and son and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Probst.
His brother, Pvt. Hugh Probst, Amarillo, Texas, is also home for two weeks, having finished basic training at Sheppard field, following his induction, April 8. Wayne was aboard a destroyer which hit a mine off Bataan Feb. 14, but only one life was lost and the ship is now being repaired at a west coast yards. He participated in the Philippines invasion and Marshall, New Guinea, and Halmahera campaigns.

Charles Wayne Probst was born Jan. 24, 1910 to Charles Daniel and Sarah Lilly Flack Probst. He died Feb. 6, 1975 and is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty, IA.
Charles served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
