T/5 Joseph Richard ‘Dick' Pringle

 

 

 

DISCHARGED.

T-5 Richard Pringle, son of Mrs. Pearl Pringle of this city, arrived Sunday after being discharged from the armed forces at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.  T-5 Pringle has been in the Army almost three years and the past 17 months has been serving with the combat engineers in Africa and Italy.

Two other members of the family are also in service. Bob is at present in the Mediterranean theatre and Kenneth is serving with the Navy in the Pacific area.

Robert H. and Pearl E. McCloskey Pringle were the parents of 3 sons serving in World War II.

Joseph Richard ‘Dick' Pringle was born Sept. 15, 1906 and died Dec. 17, 1993 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA. He served with the U.S. Army engineers in World War II in the European and African Theatres of action.

Forrest Robert ‘Bob’ Pringle was born Oct. 22, 1916 and died Jan. 13, 2015. He is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA. Bob served with the U.S. Army in World War II in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.

Kenneth Irving Pringle, RM3, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Medusa. He was born Oct. 1, 1919 and died Apr. 27, 1989. He is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
