Walter Carl Portugal was born July 19, 1920 to Walter Peter and Grace Mae Davis Portugal. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is buried in Luxembourg American Cemetery, Luxembourg.
Sgt. Portugal served in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 326th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division and was KIA in Monaville, Belgium. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
