Orville H. Poppe was born about 1911 to Albert and Mathilda Lietz Poppe. He died Nov. 21, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium.
Sgt. Poppe served in World War II with the U.S. Army 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
