Leland Preston Peebler was born Feb. 15, 1922 to Ralph and Ruth Preston Peebler. He died Sept. 3, 1944 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.
Cpl. Peebler served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/DNB between Grenier Field and Goose Bay Labrador. He died as a result of drowning following a parachute landing in water during extremely turbulent weather.
