Sgt. Clyde E. Newton was injured seriously in action January 12 while serving with the infantry in Luxembourg, according to a telegram received from the war department by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn M. Newton, 1123 Summit Street.
Sgt. Newton, formerly employed by the Wincharger Corporation, entered the army nearly two years ago, and was sent overseas May 24, 1944. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Newton, 119 12th Street.
