Leonard Mortensen Nelson was born June 24, 1910 to Mike and Margaret Mortensen Nelson. He died Feb. 28, 1945 and is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Luxembourg.
Sgt. Nelson served with the U.S. Army 304th Infantry, 76th Division in World War II and died of wounds in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
