One Is Missing Another Wounded On Battle Fronts   
Cpl. Harold Shaffer and Sgt. M. L. Morris Are Casualties
 
 
One soldier from this community is missing in action and another has been slightly wounded on the European battle fronts according to messages received here today. 
 
The missing soldier is Cpl. Harold A. "Bud" Shaffer, son of Mrs. Marv Shaffer, 1908 East Twelfth Street, Davenport, who has been missing since July 24 in a bombing mission over France. No further details were contained in the message which was received from the war department by his mother. 
 
Wounded is Sgt. Myron L. Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Morris, 2532 Glenn Street, Bettendorf.  
 
Sgt. Morris, according to the message received by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Morris, was slightly wounded in Italy, July 23.  
 
His wife is now at West Frankfort. Ill.
