Farragut, Idaho – May 11 – Beginning his recruit training this week at Farragut Naval Training Station is Kenneth Arthur Moeller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Moeller, Sioux Center, Ia. During the weeks he is training here, he will be taught military discipline, the fundamentals of seamanship, and undergo rigorous physical hardening.
Upon completion of his training he will be given an opportunity to qualify for one of the Navy’s several Service Schools, many of which are located at Farragut, for further training in a specialized trade.

Kenneth Arthur Moeller S 3/c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Moeller, entered the service in the spring of 1943. He left the states recently. His parents believe that he is on a sub chaser and operates some part of sound machines used in detecting presence and location of submarines. He finds his work very interesting but would like to be home again.

Kenneth Arthur Moeller, SN 871-79-31, was born Jan. 28, 1924 in Sioux Center, Iowa, where he was living prior to entering the Navy on May 1, 1943 at Omaha, Nebraska. He served with the U. S. Navy SV6 USNR, departed for foreign service on Feb. 20, 1944, and returned on Jan. 20, 1946. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 20, 1946. His application for bonus pay was filed on May 10, 1949, for which he received $417.50.
