John Wilson “Jack” Meck was born Sept. 12, 1919 to John Henry and Sarah Jane Wilson Meck. He died Apr. 15, 1945 and Pvt. Meck is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and has a cenotaph in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA..

Pvt. Meck served in World War II with the U.S. Army in a tank destroyer unit of the 9th Army and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
