Dale Vern Maupin was born Dec. 28, 1919 to David and Gladys Huffman Maupin. He died Jan. 5, 2014 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua, IA.
Dale served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the South Pacific as a mechanic on New Caledonia and Guadalcanal. Later he became a B-24 pilot.
