John Misener, gunner’s mate third class arrived home from the southern Pacific combat zone where he participated in the battle of Tarawa and the Marshall Islands fighting. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Misener.

John Henry Misener was born Feb. 25, 1921 to Alfred L. and Flossie Holmes Misener. He died Oct. 22, 2009 in Milwaukee, WI.
John served with the U.S. Navy aboard the minesweeper USS Pursuit (AM-108) in World War II.
