Boyden, Iowa:
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyners received a telegram from the secretary of war stating that their son, Technician Fifth Grade Ferdinand H. Meyners, was killed in action July 16 in Italy. He was 24 and had been overseas two and a half months in Africa and Italy. He had been in the service about two years.

Sgt. Meyners was born Aug. 31, 1919 and died July 16, 1944 and is buried in Saint John Cemetery, Boyden, IA.
