Claus H. Meyer was born Jan. 7, 1913 to Martin N. and Anna D. Vagts Meyer. He died Feb. 7, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Dinoze, France. He has a cenotaph in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Jump River, WI.
Sgt. Meyer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 103rd Engineer Combat Battalion, 28th Infantry Division. He died of wounds received in action and was awarded the Purple Heart.
