Tells Sioux Falls Students About 73 Pacific Missions

Technical Sergeant Charles McKettrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil MacKay of Los Angeles, formerly of Sioux City, is at the army air forces radio school at Sioux Falls, to tell students what combat is like.

Sergeant McKettrick is one of eight radio men fresh from control combat in far flung theaters of war. Winners of a total of 50 decorations, the men are veterans of nearly 350 missions in Europe, Africa and the South Pacific. Sergeant McKettrick is the winner of the distinguished flying cross, air medal and oak leaf cluster, and has 73 missions in the South Pacific to his credit.

Sergeant McKettrick was born and reared at LeMars, Iowa, later moving to Sioux City. He moved to California about four years ago with his parents. A sister, Mrs. Louis Schupp, resides here at 1815 W. 15th Street and a brother, William McKettrick, at 107 W. 14th Street.
