Edwin M. Mathes was born Jan. 15, 1921 to C. F. and Roxie J. Shelton Mathes. He died Sept. 14, 1944 and is buried in Rose Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
Sgt. Mathes served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Co. B, 363rd Infantry, 91st Division. He died of wounds received in action in Italy.
