LeMars, Iowa – Bud Masuen spent the weekend at the home of his mother, Mrs. Charles Masuen. He is taking a navy college course at Marysville, Missouri.

Irwin (Bud) Masuen wrote to his family here, mentioning his promotion to seaman first class. He said he is unable to state the present whereabouts of his ship, except that “it’s in the South Pacific where we can see the yellow of the Jap’s eyeballs, and where marbles are played for keeps.”

Erwin Joseph “Bud” Masuen was born Jan. 10, 1922 to Charles and Lena Ruden Masuen. He died June 5, 2004 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars, IA.
