Pfc. James W. Lyons

 

 

Pvt. James W. Lyons, who is stationed at Camp Roberts, Cal., is spending a 23 day furlough in the city with his wife and his mother, Mrs. Annie Lyons.  Upon his return, he will be located at Fort Ord, Cal.

Pfc. James Lyons Wounded May 22; In Luzon Sector

Pfc. James Lyons, son of Mrs. Anna Lyons of this city, was wounded in action May 22 on Luzon, his mother and wife, now living in Fort Dodge have been notified.

The serviceman’s wife received the War Department message Saturday.  No other details were given except that the wounds were not serious.

Lyons has been overseas since May, 1944, and is with the Army’s 25th infantry.

James Willard Lyons was born Sept. 4, 1925 to Bertram C. and Anna Mae Klockman Lyons. He died Oct. 21, 1967 and is buried in Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Sgt. Lyons served with Co. M, 35th Infantry, 25th Division U.S. Army in World War II.
