Warren E. ‘Beeler’ Loder was born Feb. 28, 1923. He died May 27, 2001 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA. Warren served with the U.S. Army, Co. E, 133rd Infantry, 34th Division.

Merle R. Loder, 78, a resident of Bethany Manor, died December 18, 1993 at the Story City Memorial Hospital, Story City, Iowa of heart failure. The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Merle R. Loder was born on April 4, 1915 in Jewell, Iowa, the son of Harry and LaVina (Turpin) Loder. He was a life-long resident of Jewell until moving to Bethany Manor in 1989. He was married to Cleo Sondall on November 27, 1935 and was employed as a carpenter. He had served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Larry Loder of Marengo, Illinois and Rick Loder of Robertsville, Missouri; 3 daughters, Miriam Foerster of Story City, Virginia Bolt of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Pam Skartvedt of Radcliffe; 2 brothers, Warren Loder of San Antonio Texas and Max Loder of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 1 sister Bonnie Ware of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Jack Loder and a sister Nancy Coffman.
