Donald L. Larson was born Dec. 22, 1924 to Gustaf Adolph ‘Gus’ and Beulah Ann Louthan Larson. He died Apr. 16, 2009 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Donald served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Donald L. Larson, 84, of Webster City, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Donald LaVerne Larson, son of Gustaf and Beulah Louthan Larson, was born December 22, 1924 on a farm northwest of Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City Public School and also Kamrar High School where he graduated in 1943. Donald served with the United States Army and was stationed with The U.S. Army Occupational Forces in Japan. He was honorably Discharged from the service in 1946. On April 13, 1961, he married Mary Mitchell Ahrens at a church near Boone. Mrs. Larson died April 6, 1966. Donald farmed for many years in the Webster City area.

Donald is survived by sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Larson of Fort Myers, FL; Alice Myers and Arline and Warren Snell, all of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Larson and Clifford Myers.
Donald was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Webster City.
