Harold John Kurtt was born Jan. 14, 1925 to Fred H. and Christine Schmidt Kurtt. He died Sept. 11, 2005 and is buried in Saint Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Denver, IA. Cpl. Kurtt served in World War II with the U.S. Army 712th Tank Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns under Gen. Patton. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
