Charles Floyd passed away December 20, 2010. Born August 21, 1918 in Duncombe, IA to William and Millie Koestner. He operated his own auto repair shop for a number of years, retiring from Auto Parts Warehouse in 1981. He was a member of West Des Moines United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member of Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, the American Legion and Gnemth Lodge and Past Master of the Lodge. He was a four year Army Veteran during WWII then enlisting in the Army Reserve where he served for 29 years attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3c.
He is preceded in death by brother Franklin, twin brother James Lloyd, and sisters Geneva, Eldora, Vivian, Marie and Aileen. He is survived by wife of 65 years, Virginia; daughter Kay (Dan) Kramer; grandchildren Chris and Kara and great grandchildren Isaac and Libby. A Memorial Service will be held in the spring in West Des Moines. Memorial preferred to the Shrine Childrens Hospital or Charles' Church.
