Harold Donald Koerner was born Mar. 19, 1907 to Christian ‘Chris’ and Bertha Sophia Tenhoff Koerner. He died Feb. 15, 1986 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Pvt. Koerner served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Harold D. Koerner, 78, longtime Webster City resident, died Saturday evening at the Hamilton County Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past year.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Ardel Barta officiating. Private committal services will be held at a later date.

Harold Donald Koerner son of Chris and Bertha Tenhoff Koerner was born March 19, 1907 at LeMars and was educated there.

He was married to Helen Roskopf Sept. 20, 1941 at Webster City. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during World War II.

For several years he operated an auto parts store in Webster City.

Mr. Koerner was an on-the-road salesman for eight years working for the Foremost Equipment Company of Haywarden. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Webster City for four years prior to his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by his wife Helen; one son and one daughter, Mrs. Ned (Charmion) Shobert, San Diego and Stephen Koerner, Bowers Beach, Delaware; three grandchildren, Ned Shobert, Jr. and Bill Shobert, both of San Diego and Stephanie Koerner, Bowers Beach.

Mr. Koerner was a former American Legion member and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
