40 More Sioux County Men Enter Service

About forty Sioux County men, the great majority of them married and a good many having children of school age, went to Omaha Sunday for their final army physicals. So far as can be determined at present there was only one rejected of this group.

The young single men were placed in the navy without being given a choice, while the married men were permitted to choose between army and navy. Most of them chose army.

Among these from here who were accepted as far as we know at present are John Klein, Clarence Sjaarda, Henry Addink, Albert De Haan, Bernard Sandbulte, and Cornie Kooima who was rejected and placed in a 4-F classification.

The army inductees will leave Jan. 3rd, after their 21-day furlough and the navy men will leave next Wednesday. This is an unofficial report as all returns on those examined had not yet been received by the Orange City Draft Board at the time this story went to press.
