Keith Kelly Keown was born Dec. 12, 1922 to Benson Cortez and Lucy Crawford Keown. He died Sept. 25, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Rose Hill Cemetery, Lamoni, IA.
Sgt. Keown served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 46th Squadron, 317th Troop Carrier Group and was lost at sea when his plane disappeared when flying from northern Australia to New Guinea.
