His Obituary.

Lee Kennedy, 78 of Fort Dodge died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 838 North 25th Street in Fort Dodge with the Rev. Steven Peters officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA with full military honors conducted by the VFW Post #1856. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge are in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Della Kennedy and Edna Kennedy both of Webster City, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Rachel (McComb) Kennedy, a sister, Zola Blue, four brothers, Kenneth Kennedy, Warren Kennedy, Jay Kennedy, and Marvin Kennedy.

Lee K. Kennedy was born March 22, 1925 in Webster City, IA. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1943. On October 27, 1944 Lee entered the United States Army serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He received his honorable discharge on December 2, 1946. On March 3, 1951 he married Dorothy Essig in Webster City and after their marriage the couple made Webster City and Fort Dodge their home. Lee worked for the Johnston Automotive, Gibbs Cook, and Fort Dodge Machine & Supply retiring in 1987. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, and yard work.

Lee was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Lee K. Kennedy was born Mar. 22, 1925 to Lionel Kenneth and Rachel Barbara McComb Kennedy. He died 2003 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Lee served with the U.S. Army in World War II in the South Pacific.
