Lyle D. Johnston was born May 19, 1920 to William A. and Bertha Drusilla Barnhill Johnston. He died Aug. 11, 1942 and is buried in Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, IA.
Pvt. Johnston served in World War II with the U.S. Army Coast Artillery Corps and became a POW and died in a Japanese prison camp on Luzon, Philippine Islands.
