Cpl. Vernie W. Johnson

 

GRADUATED
Vernie W. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius O. Johnson of near this city, has been graduated from an intensive course in airplane mechanics at Sheppard Field, Texas. He is now qualified to be assigned to one of the army air force’s ground crews, which keep the U.S. bombers and fighters flying.

Vernie Walter Johnson was born Sept. 30, 1917 to Julius Oscar and Fern Dally Johnson. He died Nov. 5, 1964 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

Cpl. Johnson served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 868th Bomb Squadron in World War II.
