Donald Arthur Istad was born Oct. 2, 1923 to Arthur and Stella Istad. He died Mar. 16, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Pvt. Istad served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. B, 187th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division and of wounds received in action on Luzon Island, Philippine Islands. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
