PVT. INGERTSON AMOUNG WOUNDED IN FRENCH ZONE
Pvt. Bill Ingertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ingertson, former Webster City residents now living at Long Beach, Cal., was wounded in action in France, July 17, according to word received here by friends.
Private Ingertson only recently was transferred overseas to the European war theater. His address may be obtained from Chester Ambrose of this city.

PVT. INGERTSON DIED JULY 29
W. C. Infantryman Suffered Wounds July 17 in France
Private Bill Ingertson, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ingertson, former Webster City residents now living at Long Beach, Cal., died in France July 29, friends and relatives here were notified Thursday.
Private Ingertson, a member of an infantry unit, apparently died 12 days after being wounded in action somewhere in France since a previous message received here had listed him among the wounded on July 17.
Besides his parents, Private Ingertson is survived by one brother, Bob, a seaman second class, now serving with the naval forces, and one sister, Betty, who is living at Long Beach.
Private Ingertson had been in the army for nearly a year but had been overseas for only six weeks at the time of his being wounded.

William Henry ‘Bill’ Ingertson was born Mar. 13, 1925 to John Douglas and Georgia Mary Lou Mowel Ingertson. He died July 29, 1944 and is buried in the Brittany American Cemetery, St. James (Manche), France Plot: J Row: 9 Grave: 18.
Pvt. Ingertson served with the U.S Army, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
