Lt. Walter Willard Ingalls

 

 

Walter Willard Ingalls was born Jan. 15, 1922 to Willard and Alice B. Ingalls. He died Feb. 1, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Lt. Ingalls served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 25th Bomber Squadron, 40th Bomber Group, Very Heavy and was MIA/KIA/FOD aboard a B-29 (Superfortress) aircraft on a mission from Chakulia, near Calcutta, India to Singapore, Malay States. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
