Joseph Edward Herron was born Nov. 11, 1916 to John Edward and Elizabeth Murphy Herron. He died Sept. 24, 1975 and is buried in Saint Francis Cemetery, Le Roy, NY.
Petty Officer Herron served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Mindanao (ARG-3) with the Asiatic Fleet in Bataan and Corregidor. He was a Japanese POW at Cabanatuan, Philippine Islands.
