Frank Monroe Hawbaker was born Aug. 30, 1912 to Emmert L. and Eliza A. Wagaman Hawbaker. He died June 28, 1944 and and is buried in Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy and has a cenotaph in Brethren Cemetery, Dallas Center, IA.
Pvt. Hawbaker served in World War II with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and was KIA in Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart.
