FIRST RELEASE OF STATE HISTORICAL DEATH SUMMARIES  

Eighty men from Kossuth county lost their lives while in the service of their country in World War II.

Daryle Kermit Hansen was born Jan. 12, 1922 to Peter N. and Clara O. Hansen. He died May 2, 1945 and is memorialized at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii and in Saint John Lutheran Cemetery, Ringsted, IA.

Cpl. Hansen served in World War Ii with the U.S. Marine Corps as Fire Team Leader (MOS 737) G Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines and was KIA in combat operations on Okinawa. His body was never recovered.
