Waldo J. “Slim” Hessenius was born Feb. 14, 1924 to John D. and Hilda A. Hessenius. He died June 21, 2005 and is buried in Spring Grove Cemetery, Covington, IA.
Pvt. Hessenius served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II and was wounded in action.
