Harlan Lester Hayes was born Apr. 14, 1925 to Warren Lester and Blanche H. Nelson Hayes. He died Apr. 2, 2009 and is buried in Concord Cemetery, Garner, IA
Pvt. Hayes served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Co. E, 386th Infantry as a Rifleman. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
